Elena Semikina, born on September 8, 1983, in Chisinau, Moldova, emigrated to Canada in 2004 with her family, seeking better opportunities due to economic difficulties in Russia and Moldova. Arriving in Toronto at the age of 21, she overcame language and cultural barriers, learning English and enrolling at York University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and finance.
