Galina Răduleanu was a psychiatrist, a survivor of communist political detention, and one of the remarkable figures of post-war Romanian medicine. Born on March 9, 1933, in Bălți, into the family of priest Boris Răduleanu, she experienced uprooting from childhood. Later, she was expelled from high school and then sentenced to prison for her convictions and for notes considered hostile to the regime. After her release in 1964, she continued her medical vocation with particular determination, choosing psychiatry and dedicating herself with empathy to suffering patients. In her career, Galina Răduleanu worked in several hospitals and medical centers in Romania, including facilities in Brașov, Buzău, Pucioasa, Bucharest, and the "Alexandru Obregia" Hospital. She is particularly associated with the establishment of the Psychiatry Department in Pucioasa, where she contributed to the development of services for patients with mental health conditions. Her testimonies about detention and professional ethics also circulated in the public sphere, including through interviews and media appearances, where she spoke about the profound impact of communism on her life and how her prison experience strengthened her choice to become a psychiatrist. Beyond her profession, Galina Răduleanu remained connected to faith, memory, and the education of young people, being appreciated by organizations such as the Students' League, which awarded her the title of honorary senior member. Public information shows that she was very close to her father's figure, and her family life was marked by communist repressions, with several family members affected by arrests and convictions. In the last decades of her life, she was seen as a witness to history, a woman of great moral dignity, and a life teacher for younger generations, and at the age of 92, she passed away, after a life dedicated to people and faith.
