Olga Pahom, a doctor in English linguistics, is an associate professor of linguistics and cultural studies at Lubbock Christian University in the United States, where she also serves as associate dean of the Honors College. She is the founder of the university's linguistics program and coordinates the Honors Thesis Program, contributing to strategic initiatives for the development of the honors college. Her research focuses on intercultural communication, bilingualism, second language acquisition, gender and language, storytelling, and writing instruction, areas in which she has taught courses such as linguistics, honors research, and first-year Greek. With an impressive career, Olga Pahom holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Texas Tech University, as well as a B.B.A. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Missions from Lubbock Christian University. Previously, she taught courses such as rhetoric, TESOL, English literature, Spanish, applied linguistics, and master's level academic writing at Texas Tech. She has worked in intercultural contexts in Moldova, Romania, Mexico, and the USA, in both private and public universities. Her recent publications include the book "Conversational Storytelling in Spanish-English Bilingual Couples: Gender Roles and Language Choices," published by Bloomsbury Academic, based on analyses of over 900 minutes of conversations. She has also presented at multiple conferences, including the Christian Scholars’ Conference, on topics of bilingualism and gender in multilingual couples. Originally from the Republic of Moldova, Olga Pahom combines her multicultural experience with family life, spending her free time reading, writing, weaving, and traveling with her multicultural family. Her contributions to education and research highlight the importance of communication in bilingual couples, offering valuable insights into how linguistic choices shape identities and communities, reflecting her commitment to academic and intercultural excellence in the American university environment.
