Alexandra Neyman is an architect and educator with over 25 years of experience in the field of architecture, born and raised in Chisinau, Moldova. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan, Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, as well as a strong background in Critical Theory and Art History from the same institution. Throughout her career, Alexandra has worked on a wide range of projects, from housing and libraries to schools and small-scale residential renovations, building substantial experience in several architectural firms. In education, Alexandra has dedicated her career to teaching architecture, serving as an adjunct professor at Lawrence Technological University in Detroit and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she teaches advanced studio and urban design theories. Previously, she taught architecture at the University of Michigan and was a visiting critic at prestigious institutions such as the University of California Berkeley, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, California College of the Arts, Cranbrook Academy of Art, and Boston Architectural College. Her pedagogical practices combine critical theories with experimental methodologies based on systems thinking. In parallel with her academic career, Alexandra founded agglab, an interdisciplinary design and research practice focusing on competitive architectural work, installations, publications, and workshops. Her experimental research explores the development of innovative architectural environments through generative tectonic language and digital and analog algorithmic techniques, inspired by biological behaviors and genetic variation. agglab's work has been widely exhibited and published in California and beyond, including at conferences such as ACADIA Design Agency and at Cranbrook Academy of Art.
