Emilia Lupan was a remarkable theater actress from the Republic of Moldova, born on August 21, 1949, in the village of Roșcana, Anenii Noi district. She graduated from the school in her native village, and from 1970 she joined the troupe of the "Vasile Alecsandri" National Theater in Bălți, where she dedicated her entire artistic career, accumulating over 38 years on stage until her passing. Awarded the title of People's Artist, she performed memorable roles, contributing to the promotion of Moldovan and Romanian national dramaturgy, in a theater renowned for its rich repertoire of local texts. Her career was marked by exceptional performances, including the leading role in the monodrama "I'm Waiting for You, My Love" by Dario Fo, performed on her 60th birthday in 2009, when she opened the theater season with a personal creative evening. She participated in successful plays such as "Baltagul" after Mihai Sadoveanu, often included in the school curriculum, attracting a large audience. As an emblematic figure of Bălți theater, alongside other artists like Anatol Pînzaru or Eufrosinia Dobîndă-Volontir, Emilia Lupan enriched the stage with profound interpretations, exploring themes such as women's fate, love, and human drama, within a vibrant cultural context of the Republic of Moldova. Emilia Lupan passed away at the age of 73 in December 2022, leaving behind a valuable legacy in Moldovan theater.
