Lidina Xenia Ivanovna (1901–1986), born on June 24, 1901, in the city of Bender, Bessarabia, into a family of an officer in the 55th Podolsk Infantry Regiment, was an active participant in the revolutionary movement in Bessarabia. Educated at a girls' gymnasium, where she was influenced by the revolutionary ideas of A. I. Gliadkovskaia, she joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolshevik) in 1919. During the armed uprising in Bender on May 27, 1919, she provided aid to the wounded, performing liaison and courier roles, thus contributing to the struggle for the liberation of the region from Romanian administration. After the defeat of the uprising, Lidina Xenia was arrested but later released through a prisoner exchange with Romanian pilots. Her professional career began in 1926 as an instructor-consult During World War II, she was evacuated to Osh, Uzbekistan. Recognized for her merits, Lidina Xenia (born Kotovici) was declared an Honorary Citizen of the city of Bender in 1969, symbolizing her dedication to revolutionary ideals and public administration within the historical context of Bessarabia and the Soviet Union.
