About
Eugenia Goldman, originally from the Republic of Moldova, began her musical studies at the age of five with the piano, and two years later was admitted to the Specialized Music Boarding School for violin. She graduated from the Moldova State Conservatory, where she obtained her master's and bachelor's degrees in violin performance under the guidance of Gheorghe Neaga, and debuted her performing career with the Symphony Orchestra of the Moldova State Philharmonic, participating in extensive tours in Europe and South America. After immigrating to the United States, she continued to perform as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician in Long Island, New York, and later in New Jersey, while developing her passion for music teaching. With a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in Music Education from Boston University, Eugenia Goldman has been a conductor in the Montgomery Township Schools, New Jersey, for over 23 years. There, she developed a successful string orchestra program for students in grades IV-XII, encompassing recruitment, instruction, and curriculum development. She is the founder and owner of Soundwave Music, a music publishing company, a composer and arranger of string orchestra pieces (grades 1-2), and the author of the innovative textbook "Note Reading for Strings" and articles on music pedagogy. She also leads the Cantabile String Quintet, performing at weddings, corporate, and private events in central New Jersey. Active in professional organizations such as the American Federation of Musicians and the National Association for Music Education, Eugenia Goldman frequently presents, adjudicates, and conducts at conferences, symposia, competitions, and festivals. Her research focuses on musical preferences, curriculum development, and violin pedagogy. She is fluent in Russian and English and conversational in Romanian, reflecting her Moldovan roots. While details of her personal life are not widely available, her remarkable career demonstrates a dedication to music education and the promotion of classical music within American communities.
