About

Aliona Dreglea is a remarkable mathematician of Moldovan origin, a graduate of Tiraspol State University in 1999 with a specialization in applied mathematics and computer science, followed by a master's degree in pure mathematics from the University of Oradea in 2000. A Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (PhD obtained in 2013 at Irkutsk State University and Dublin Institute of Technology), she has distinguished herself through contributions in fields such as differential equations, game theory, mathematical modeling of energy processes, and numerical methods for Volterra integral equations. With over 50 publications indexed in databases like Scopus, Web of Science, and MathSciNet, her works have accumulated hundreds of citations, addressing practical applications in renewable energy storage, wind forecasting, and AC/DC hybrid systems, demonstrating recognized international expertise. Active in education and research in the Russian Federation for over a decade, Aliona Dreglea is an associate professor and senior researcher at the Baikal BRICS School and the Industrial Mathematics Laboratory at Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU). There, she teaches courses such as Game Theory, Applied Mathematics, and Fundamentals of Business Communication for bachelor's and master's programs, including dual degree programs with Chinese universities. She has collaborated with prestigious institutions like the Institute of Energy Systems of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IES RAS), Harbin University in China, and Dublin Institute of Technology, participating in RFBI grants and international projects in sustainable energy modeling. Her teaching experience includes lectures at the University of Oradea and DIT, and she currently supervises master's students, contributing to the training of future generations of industrial mathematics specialists. Her professional training reflects an international trajectory marked by scholarships such as the Klüber Lubrication scholarship in Ireland (2001-2005) and involvement in international schools like the Baikal School-Seminar on Optimization Methods. Although details of her personal life remain discreet in public sources, her contributions in the context of the Baikal region – with studies on zero-emission energy systems – highlight her commitment to sustainable development. Through academic excellence and cross-border collaborations, Aliona Dreglea represents a role model for Moldovan women in higher education and advanced research.
