About

Victoria Demici is a British-Romanian poet, composer, lyricist, and author of five books, born in the Republic of Moldova. She oscillates between languages and cultures, between prose and poetry, between music and lyrics, playing the piano and guitar and writing in English, French, Russian, and Romanian. Her poems have been published by Cartier (Moldova) and Eminescu (Romania), and she has written and performed songs that have reached international stages. Her song "A Century of Love" represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest, and her poetic adaptation of Eugen Doga's waltz "Sweet and Tender Beast" was performed at the Beijing Winter Olympics and at the US Figure Skating Championships, presenting the beauty of the Romanian language to an international audience of millions. She also translates musical compositions into poetic language, being the author of the English lyrics for Shostakovich's Waltz No. 2 and the adaptations into the sound language of the films "Love Story" and "Schindler's List," performed by Paula Seling, the golden voice of Romania.
