Valentina Delion, born on October 30, 1973, in the Republic of Moldova, is a former long-distance runner, specializing in the half marathon and marathon events, originally from Ungheni. She set her personal best in the marathon in 2005, with a time of 2:36:50, achieved through her victory at the Bonn Marathon, Germany. Among her most significant achievements are four national championship titles, victories at the Regensburg and Munich marathons in 2001, Bonn in 2005 and 2006, as well as the Bucharest Marathon in 2008, being a multiple national running champion and a double Romanian marathon champion. The athlete represented the Republic of Moldova at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, where she competed in the marathon event, although she did not finish the race, and was part of the national athletics team at the European Cup in the periods 2001-2007 and 2009-2020. With a height of 169 cm and a weight of 60 kg, she achieved notable performances in international competitions, including in Bonn, Paderborn, Bucharest, and Turnu Severin, under the guidance of coach Mihai Grosu.
