Alexandra Conunova is a remarkable violinist born in 1988 in Chisinau, into a family with a rich artistic and cultural tradition. Her great-grandfather, Alexandru Fedco, was the director of the State Philharmonic and the initiator of the emblematic "Martisor" festival, and her grandfather, Boris Conunov, was a renowned film director. Conunova began studying the violin at the age of six and, from childhood, demonstrated exceptional talent, winning a series of important awards at international competitions. Her musical training took place both in the Republic of Moldova and abroad, establishing her as one of the most promising voices of her generation. Alexandra's international career experienced a remarkable rise after winning First Prize at the 2012 Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition in Hanover. Subsequently, she received other prestigious accolades: a bronze medal at the 2015 Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow, prizes at the Singapore International Violin Competition, and the Fellowship from the Borletti-Buittoni Trust in London (2016-2018). Since then, the violinist has established herself as a world-renowned soloist, collaborating with top European and international symphony orchestras, including Orchestre de Paris, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Mariinsky Orchestra, Tokyo Metropolitan Orchestra, and many others. Conunova performs regularly under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductors and has performed on major stages from San Francisco to Tokyo, and in the 2025/26 season, she will undertake tours with numerous prestigious orchestras in Europe and America. Beyond her solo career, Alexandra Conunova has actively dedicated herself to social and cultural responsibility within her community. She was honored by the President of the Republic of Moldova with the honorary title of "Maestru ès Arts" (2015) for her contributions to national culture. In 2016, she founded the charitable foundation VitArt (also known as ArtaVie), with the aim of assisting disadvantaged families and children with special needs in Chisinau, including students from her former school. Conunova maintains a close connection with her homeland, returning regularly for concerts and masterclasses dedicated to nurturing a new generation of musicians, demonstrating her commitment to the development of the Moldovan music scene and the international promotion of national culture.
