Mădălina Ciocanu is an internationally recognized education specialist with an impressive career focused on the intersection of education, technology, art, and community development. A graduate of a dual bachelor's degree program in cultural anthropology and international relations at the University of Rochester and the University of Oxford, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, she went on to earn a master's degree in International Educational Development from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her major achievements include coordinating educational reform projects in Paraguay, conducting independent research in indigenous communities in Oaxaca, and launching a startup dedicated to arts education, demonstrating solid expertise in educational policy, ICT, and early childhood education. She has collaborated with prestigious institutions such as the Center for Technology and School Change at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she works as a specialist in international projects, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova, where she coordinated the National Program for Care Services for Children under 3 years old (2023-2026), and organizations such as Street Child, UNDP Moldova, Earth Institute, and Human Rights Watch. Her experience includes consulting on education in emergency contexts, such as the access of Ukrainian refugees to early childhood education in Moldova, as well as roles in media production at TeleFilm Chișinău and educational activism in the USA, contributing to projects that promote equity and innovation in education. Originally from Chișinău, where she was born in the early '90s, Mădălina emigrated with her family to the United States in 2009, later living in multiple countries on three continents. She has undertaken remarkable adventures, such as cycling across seven Central American countries on just five dollars a day, and has been involved in social activism, including with Students for a Democratic Society at university. An artist, a DJ known as Borș, and a founder of mentorship platforms for artists, she combines non-formal education with ethnography and sound design, periodically returning to Moldova for local projects that leverage the potential of young communities.
