About

Elizaveta Cibotaru was born on November 15, 2003, in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, and discovered her passion for music at the age of five, beginning her violin studies at the "C. Porumbescu" Republican Music Lyceum. She initially studied with Nikolai Buinovschii, a disciple of the renowned Igor Oistrakh, and later with his wife, Galina Buinovschii, and their son, Vadim Buinovschii. She is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions, such as "Zlata Tcaci" and "Paul Constantinescu" in Ploiesti, Romania, and was active in the National Youth Orchestra of Moldova, actively participating in charitable projects in her hometown. Since 2021, Elizaveta has continued her academic training at the Haute École de Musique de Genève-Neuchâtel, under the guidance of Professor Sergey Ostrovsky, where she participated in the Geneva String Academy in its 2023 edition. She has performed solo, chamber music, and orchestral recitals in prestigious venues in Moldova, Switzerland, and Romania, such as the National Philharmonic "Serghei Lunchevici", Victoria Hall in Geneva, Auditorium Stravinsky in Montreux, and Stadtcasino in Basel. She also performs regularly in nursing homes and hospitals, bringing joy to vulnerable audiences, and has participated in festivals in Switzerland, Romania, and Israel. She plays a Honoré Derazey violin provided by the Lalive Foundation in Geneva and later an Italian instrument from the Maggini Foundation. Although the young violinist pursues her main studies in Switzerland, the field of classical music connects her to extensive European networks, with potential for collaborations in Italy, where the violin tradition is vibrant through institutions like the Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome or festivals like the one in Ravenna. Elizaveta represents a new generation of Moldovan talents on the international stage, continuing the legacy of remarkable artists from the country, and is constantly involved in promoting music through accessible concerts for communities. Detailed information about her personal life is not publicly available, with the focus being on her promising artistic journey.
