Elena Bushan is a professional visual artist and art instructor originally from the Republic of Moldova, who lives and works in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Her passion for drawing and painting began in childhood, being accepted into art school at the age of eight. She accumulated over 15 years of artistic education in schools, colleges, and the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts of Moldova, obtaining a bachelor's degree in fine arts between 1999 and 2004. Her artistic style, described as imaginative realism, focuses on portraits and figurative painting, exploring various techniques such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, charcoal, pastel, alcohol ink, clay, fettling, and digital art. Her achievements include exhibitions in Canada and Europe, and her works can be found in numerous private collections. She created an impressive mural titled "Mother Nature" for the 2020 BUMP Festival in Calgary, produced in the context of the pandemic, which symbols the healing power of nature, with wings made of plants and a subtle ecological message about environmental destruction.
