About

Buga Cezara, born in 1994 in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, is a successful fashion designer based in Bucharest, Romania, where she discovered and developed her passion for fashion. A graduate of the fashion design department of the Nicolae Tonitza Fine Arts High School, under the guidance of teacher Ilinca Manole Heinrich, and subsequently of the 'Salomeia Truță' Fashion Institute, Cezara inherited her creative talent from her grandmother, a renowned seamstress from Ungheni, and from her painter uncle. Her first creations were doll clothes, and her professional training allowed her to create complex collections such as 'Metamorphosis of Shapes', presented at Culorile Toamnei 2016 and Bucharest Fashion Week 2016, and 'Between Black and White', shown at Bucharest Fashion Week 2017 and Fashion Philosophy 2018. Through her own brand 'BC – Buga Cezara', aimed especially at teenagers and people who hide their inner emotions, the designer explores the boundaries between art and fashion, combining sophisticated patterns, masculine lines with feminine colors, and contemporary finishes. Her creations express freedom, identity, and personal transformation, inspired by states of mind, life stories, and inner struggle, promoting the idea that no matter how dark reality may be, there is room for hope and fulfillment. She has collaborated with design workshops and studios in Romania, but chose independence to constantly evolve, planning new collections such as 'Vise în culori fără sunete' ('Dreams in Colors Without Sounds') and inclusive projects for people with disabilities, a unique endeavor in Romanian fashion. Diagnosed in childhood with bilateral hearing loss caused by incorrect medical treatment, which prompted the family's move to Bucharest for a cochlear implant and therapy, Cezara transformed these challenges into inner strength. A fighter by nature, she practices fitness – where she won impressive competitions with squats, sit-ups, and lunges –, yoga, and pilates, while in her free time she paints, reads, cooks, and travels. Committed to promoting equal opportunities, she campaigns against stereotypes, demonstrating that talent and perseverance overcome any obstacles in the fashion world.
