Alona Ben Natan is a remarkable figure in the world of motorsports, being the first woman from Israel to win the FIM Baja World Cup (rally-raid) title. Her story is defined by determination, adaptability, and an unexpected passion for speed, discovered after she began practicing the sport in adulthood. Origins and beginnings: Born in Chisinau, Alona moved to Israel in 2000, at the age of 12, quickly adapting to a new cultural environment and demonstrating from a young age a strong character, coupled with rigorous athletic discipline instilled by her father, a former Soviet champion in rowing and swimming. From necessity to performance: Her first contact with two-wheeled vehicles was purely pragmatic at the age of 16, when she bought a moped to save time between work, school, and sports activities (she played handball at a high level, winning the Israeli championship with the "Maccabi" team). Motorsport Career: Although she studied economics and design, later becoming a UX/UI designer, her life took a turn towards motorsport through participation in rallies, including the prestigious "Hotze Israel" (from Katzrin to Eilat), where she organized and led an all-female team. The experience gained alongside rally driver Hamada Uda provided her with the necessary technical foundation to understand the complexity of navigation and speed in extreme conditions. Life Philosophy: Alona emphasizes the importance of the courage to fail, considering that a competitive spirit and the desire not to give up are essential to progress from beginner to world champion in less than six years of practice. Currently, she is aiming for new international challenges, preparing for the Dakar Rally, one of the most difficult competitions of its kind in the world.
