Daniela Baciu, originally from Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, stood out in 2016 as an ambitious and charismatic model, winning the title of "Miss Universitaria 2016" in Baia Mare, Romania, in a competition organized by the "Pintea Viteazu" Students' League. With a natural and cheerful presence, the 21-year-old impressed the jury and the public through various rounds, including talent, intelligence, evening gown and lingerie catwalks, plus a surprise round, becoming the only Moldovan participant to win first place among the ten contestants.
