About
Nastasya Tsykolenko is a Cyprus-based director and screenwriter, originally from Moldova with Ukrainian roots. Her work focuses on female-centric stories, queer narratives, emotional intimacy, and the hidden power dynamics within human relationships. Before fully dedicating herself to filmmaking, she devoted over fifteen years of her professional life to theatre. She worked as an actress, stage director, and artistic leader, directing captivating theatre productions and performances showcased internationally and at theatre festivals. For several years, she held the position of Artistic Director at the Repertory Art Theatre in Limassol, Cyprus. Coming from a deeply theatrical background, Tsykolenko has developed a distinct sensitivity towards actor psychology and performance dynamics. Her directorial style is built around emotional precision, atmosphere, and intensely human performances, often balancing tenderness, vulnerability, tension, obsession, and dark humor within visually compelling cinematic worlds. In May 2026, she became the official director and screenwriter for the Miss World international pageant project for Cyprus and Greece. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Nastasya is an outspoken advocate for queer visibility and rights, and her work often reflects themes of identity, love, and freedom.
