Hero of Socialist Labor, Decree Date: 22.03.1966 Medal No.: 11718, Order of Lenin No.: 331832 Maria Țîmbalist was a pig keeper at the "Drujba" (Friendship) collective farm in the Dondușeni district. She was born on November 18, 1918, in the village of Rudi, Soroca district. She was among the first members to join the "Drujba" collective farm, established in her native village. From 1947 to 1953, she worked as a team leader, and from 1953, she became a pig keeper at the "Drujba" collective farm in the Atachi district (from 1963 – Dondușeni district), Moldavian SSR (currently, the village belongs to the Soroca district). Mastering her trade perfectly, she successfully applied advanced methods of feeding and caring for pigs, increasing the productivity of the animals entrusted to her year after year. Particularly high performance was achieved during the "seven-year plan" (1959–1965). In the period 1961–1965, she obtained an average of 18.2 piglets per sow per year, with an average weaning weight of 14.3 kg, managing to keep 99. By Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 22, 1966, for achievements in the development of animal husbandry, increasing the production and procurement of meat and other products, Maria Mikhailovna Tsymbalist was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor, with the presentation of the Order of Lenin and the gold medal "Hammer and Sickle". Consolidating her successes, in the period 1966–1968 she obtained, on average, 19.3 piglets from each sow, with an average weaning weight of 15.1 kg. She was a deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the Moldavian SSR in the 7th convocation (1967–1971) and a delegate to the III Congress of Kolkhozniks of the USSR (1969). From 1968 she retired, and from 1969 she became a pensioner with personal status of all-union importance. She was awarded the Order of Lenin (22.03.1966) and various medals.
