Her father is Ukrainian, while her mother is Moldovan, with Romanian origins. Kaiia's passion for music began around the age of five, when she organized "music contests" in the backyard of her house. The singer described her childhood as "happy and full of funny incidents". Kaiia graduated from "Mihai Eminescu" High School, after which she attended the Industrial-Pedagogical College in Cahul, music department. During these years of study, she participated in various concerts organized in Cahul; she also performed at certain local parties in Chisinau songs composed by herself. In 2008 and 2009, she participated in the "Faces of Friends" Festival in Cahul; also in 2009, she was one of the contestants of the first reality show in the Republic of Moldova, Star Factory. Currently, Kaiia is studying at "Andrei Șaguna" University, Faculty of Communication Sciences and Political Sciences, journalism department in Constanța, Romania. Kaiia stated that she is a fan of performers Beyoncé Knowles, Rita Ora, and Jessie J, preferring Greek pianist Yanni for relaxation moments. In April 2012, Kaiia released her first single, "Crazy Love," in collaboration with MAAN Studio, the producers of Alexandra Stan's globally successful song "Mr. Saxobeat." Kaiia's song was categorized as a dance track, though different from Stan's. Recorded with the production house Maan Studio, "Crazy Love" also benefited from a music video directed by Iulian Moga. The song reached position 20 on the Romanian Top 100. The single "Uhodi" followed, which, like "Crazy Love," was also produced by MAAN Studio. She then signed with Roton Music in 2016, with whom she released the single "Burn."
