About

Julia Roitenberg is the Director of Child and Family Health and the Chief of Nursing Practice for the York Region Public Health department. She has over 20 years of experience in the nursing field, spanning acute care, community health, and public health sectors. Julia holds a Master of Nursing, specializing in community health, from the University of Toronto, and a Master Certificate in Municipal Management from the Schulich School of Business, York University. She is currently enrolled in the Advanced Health Care Leadership Program at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Julia sits on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Public Health Association. She is also an active member of the Ontario Public Health Nurses’ Association. Additionally, she has recently joined two RNAO Interest Groups: the Community Health Nurses’ Initiative Group and the Ontario Nurse Leaders’ Network. Julia is a collaborative leader who values people engagement, person-centered care, and health equity. Her primary strength is creating and facilitating a vision for a preferred future for an organization. Julia believes in the principles of accountability and excellence. Her areas of passion include: policy engagement, strategic planning, quality medical practice, coaching, and solution-focused communication.
