Elena Petrici is a young inventor and entrepreneur from the Republic of Moldova, originally from a village, who has built a remarkable career in engineering and technology. At 23 years old, she is a 4th-year student at the Faculty of Engineering in Galați, specializing in Applied Informatics, and has shown an unusual passion for tractors and agricultural machinery since childhood. Her passion for mechanics began at the age of 7, when she helped her grandfather with repairs, and this dedication has found expression in engineering projects with practical and commercial relevance. After graduating from high school, Elena moved to Romania, wanting to develop professionally and to better understand her Romanian roots. She settled in Galați and worked 14 hours a day in Great Britain during her second year of university summer holidays to save approximately 4,000 euros to start her own business. She currently sells tractor parts, including bearings and gearboxes, to small agricultural landowners, and her commercial activity supports her financially and academically. Elena Petrici's most significant achievement is the development of a revolutionary device for detecting counterfeit tractor parts, which works through comparative acoustic analysis. The device uses microphones mounted on the parts, generates sounds by striking them, and compares the results with a diagram of the original part, identifying fakes with remarkable accuracy. This invention, developed with the support of the Student Scientific Circle for Applied Informatics in Materials Engineering, coordinated by Florin Marin Bogdan, is currently undergoing homologation and has already attracted numerous clients. In parallel, Elena is developing an application to optimize fuel consumption in tractors, and in the long term, she plans to open a tractor factory for small farmers, featuring low consumption and customized design.
