Marina Palii is an actress born on March 31, 1991, in Fălești, Republic of Moldova, who has built a successful career in Romanian theater and cinema. After graduating high school in Sibiu, where she discovered her passion for art through volunteering at the International Theater Festival, she moved to Bucharest to pursue higher education. She completed her academic training with a bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages at the University of Bucharest (2011-2014), followed by acting studies at UNATC, where she obtained her bachelor's (2014-2017) and master's (2017-2019) degrees under the guidance of Professor Florin Zamfirescu. Marina Palii's theater career began during her university years, with collaborations at Nottara Theater and Mic Theater in Bucharest. Upon completing her master's degree, she joined the "Ioan Slavici" Classical Theater in Arad, where she continues to perform and rehearse. Her film debut was in 2018, when director Cristi Puiu cast her as Countess Olga in the feature film "Malmkrog," an experience that decisively shaped her professional trajectory and which was awarded at Berlinale. Subsequently, she played a role in the French production "La forêt d'argent" (2019) and participated in the film "Dinți de lapte" directed by Mihai Mincan, in which she portrays a grieving mother. In 2021, she was selected for the prestigious Berlinale Talents program, a significant recognition of her talent in the film industry. Marina Palii is known for her dedication to her craft and her profound approach to the roles she interprets, preferring "to play people, not characters" and seeking texts with emotional complexity. This acting philosophy, combined with her experience in various workshops with international practitioners such as Jarosław Fret from the Grotowski Institute in Poland, has contributed to the development of an authentic and recognized artistic voice within the Romanian theater and film community.
