Ludmila Page (née Lewinson, 1920–2020), also known as Mila Page or Ludmila Pfefferberg, was a Holocaust survivor, born in Chișinău, who played an essential role in bringing Oskar Schindler's story to public attention. She was born on July 15, 1920, in Chișinău. She lived in pre-war Poland and was one of the individuals saved by Oskar Schindler (known for "Schindler's List"), surviving the horrors of the Kraków Ghetto and concentration camps such as Auschwitz-Birkenau, Płaszów, and Brünnlitz. Role in Schindler's Story: Together with her husband, Leopold "Poldek" Pfefferberg (who later changed his name to Page), she was responsible for introducing the writer Thomas Keneally to Oskar Schindler's story. This meeting led to the writing of the book Schindler's Ark (later known as Schindler's List), which formed the basis for Steven Spielberg's famous film. Post-War Activities: After the war, she settled in the United States (California), where she continued to bear witness to her Holocaust experiences to educate future generations. She provided testimony to the USC Shoah Foundation Visual History Archive and was an active figure within the survivor community in the USA. Death: Ludmila Page passed away on December 2, 2020, at the age of 100.
