About
Natalia Margarit is a remarkable spinto coloratura lyric-dramatic soprano, originally from the Republic of Moldova, who began a brilliant career as a principal soprano at the Moldavian National Opera in the countries of the former USSR. After transferring to Italy, she made a triumphant debut in 1998 at the Pucciniano Festival in Torre del Lago in the role of Turandot, earning enthusiastic consensus from critics and the public, followed by Tosca in 2000, also there. She performed Aida alongside Fiorenza Cossotto in Roncole Verdi in 1997 and made a resounding debut in 1999 in São Paulo, Brazil, being reviewed as "the best soprano ever heard in the city's history." His vast repertoire includes leading roles in Verdi's operas such as Il trovatore, Un ballo in maschera, Nabucco, La forza del destino, Macbeth, Aida, and La Traviata, as well as Puccini – Tosca, Turandot, La bohème, Madame Butterfly, La fanciulla del West – alongside Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci. She has released several CDs, the first being "Rare operatic arias" (Bongiovanni), praised for its high lyrical quality interpretation, followed by arias from Verdi and Puccini with Grande Opera di Bruxelles, romances from unpublished operas by A. Ponchielli, and the complete I Promessi Sposi in the role of Lucia. Critics have praised her for "excellent range and a magnificent voice," calling her "the most beautiful coloratura soprano voice ever heard," and a memorable performance was alongside José Carreras at the Lyric Festival of Abbazia di Casamari. Based in the Marche region, Ancona, Natalia Margarit teaches singing online in languages such as Italian, Russian, Romanian, and Ukrainian, offering the first months of lessons for free, based on the experience gained between 2020-2024 as a lecturer at the Chisinau Conservatory. She collaborated with the Moldavian Symphonic Orchestra under conductor Silvano Frontalini, the Manoel Theatre Orchestra from Malta, and others, participating in concerts such as "Windows on Opera" in 1997. Her personal life remains discreet, but her international career places her among the remarkable women in the field of Moldovan opera who emigrated to Italy.
