About
Sanda Lungu was born in Chisinau, Moldova, into a loving family, discovering her passion for dance at the age of 5. She graduated from the National Choreography College and, at just 16 years old, became a member of the "Maria Biesu" National Opera and Ballet Theatre. Her professional career continued with prestigious collaborations in Eastern Europe, dancing with renowned companies such as Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker, State Ballet Theatre of Russia USA Touring Company, Crown of Russian Ballet, and St. Petersburg Festival Ballet Euro Touring Company, accumulating over 20 years of experience in classical and contemporary ballet. Upon arriving in the United States, Sanda Lungu continued to perform with the same ballet companies for three years, while also dancing with Dimensional Dance Company and teaching at Massachusetts Ballet Academy. In 2018, she became certified as a ballroom dance instructor, becoming a professional competitive dancer with finalist placements in international competitions in the Rising Star/Open American Rhythm, International Latin, and Standard divisions. Recently, she collaborated with Endedans Contemporary Ballet for the performance "Occupational Therapy," a contemporary theatrical production choreographed by Tania Vergara Perez, presented at the Art Ovation Hotel in Sarasota. In 2023, Sanda Lungu founded SouL Dance Studio in Sarasota, Florida, integrating her expertise in ballet and ballroom to offer individual and group lessons tailored to all ages and levels. The studio grew rapidly, creating a vibrant community of talented dancers, with diverse class programs and events that promote discipline, fitness, and the joy of dance. Her resilience was evident in difficult times, when, after personal losses, she chose to pursue her dream, inspiring students through values such as loyalty, respect, and genuine enthusiasm for movement.
