Ekaterina Gherman is a remarkable specialist in higher education, with a successful career at the Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow, where she has been active since 2014. She currently holds leadership positions such as Deputy Vice-Rector, Director of the Center for International Faculty Recruitment and Assessment, Associate Professor at the International College of Economics and Finance, and Deputy Head of Department in the Research Methodology Unit. Her responsibilities include monitoring the scientific activities of faculty, managing databases on publications and conferences, as well as administrative support for research councils and productivity assessments. His academic background is rooted in the Republic of Moldova and Russia: he obtained his doctorate (PhD) in 2018 from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, specializations in world economy and international economic activity in 2012 from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, a master's degree in banking and financial administration in 2007, as well as a diploma in taxation and financial management in 2006, both from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova. He teaches courses in English such as "Business and Management in Global Context" and "Core Management Concepts" for undergraduate programs in economics and applied computer science, contributing to the internationalization of education at HSE. His professional interests focus on global value chains and foreign investment, areas reflected in his previous experience as a finance lecturer at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (2006-2009) and an expert in export support networks in Russia. He has received multiple distinctions at HSE, including an honorary diploma in 2025, commendations from vice-rectors and directors in 2023, 2022, 2019, and 2018, recognizing his exceptional contributions to educational program administration and international recruitment.
