Galina began her musical studies at the age of seven. After graduating from the Bender Music High School in Bender, Moldova, where she studied the violin, she continued her violin studies at the Ștefan Neaga College of Music in Chișinău, Moldova, graduating with a Performer's Diploma, which qualified her as a music teacher and orchestra artist. She then joined an orchestra at the National Opera of Moldova, where she worked successfully for four years. She was accepted as a student at the Faculty of Theatre of the National University of Arts in Moscow, Russia. She completed her studies with the grade "perfect". Then she was accepted at the G. Musicescu State Institute of Arts in Chisinau, Moldova, where she studied singing, taking lessons from the National Actress of the Soviet Union, Tamara Aleoșina. She also participated in masterclasses with Penka Gekova (Bulgaria). She graduated with a Performer's Diploma and qualified as a Teacher, Concert Soloist, and Opera Artist. She then joined a troupe of soloists at the National Opera of Moldova, performing dramatic soprano roles. Galina continued to study singing with Maya Vinogradskaya from Russia, conductor Gheorghe Victor Dumănescu from Romania, and conductor Mihail Sechkin from Ukraine. With their help, recordings of arias were made: Abigaille from Verdi's Nabucco, Aida, Leonora from Il Trovatore, the Countess from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro. These recordings were broadcast on the Gold Fund Radio and TV Broadcasting Network of Moldova. During this period, Ms. Bauer (Grini) won an award at the second edition of the Solomia Krushelnitska International Competition for Opera Singers, in November 1994, in Lviv, Ukraine. At the Competition, she sang the role of Nedda in Leoncavallo's I Pagliacci. During her collaboration with the National Opera of Moldova, Ms. Bauer participated in tours in Bulgaria, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Romania, and Ukraine, where she sang soprano in opera performances and concert programs. Among her favorite opera roles are Turandot in Puccini's Turandot, Santuzza, Lola in Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana, Lisa in Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades, Zemfira in Rachmaninoff's Aleko, and Mercedes in Bizet's Carmen. Galina immigrated to the United States in 2000. Subsequently, she graduated with a Post-Master's Certificate from Northern Illinois University in De Kalb, Illinois, where she studied with Nancy Henninger. In May 2008, Galina Bauer graduated with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree, specializing in Vocal Performance, from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, where she studied with Dr. Anne Nispel.
