About

Ludmila Aga was born in Chisinau and dedicated her life to lyrical music, becoming one of the most appreciated opera soloists in the Republic of Moldova. After graduating from high school in 1967, she initially worked as a laboratory assistant at the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences, but her passion for art led her to pursue higher education at the "Gavriil Musicescu" Institute of Arts in Chisinau, in the class of the prestigious professor N. Chiosa. Her career as a soloist at the Chisinau National Opera began in 1975 and spanned over four decades, consolidating her position as one of the institution's emblematic lyrical voices. Ludmila Aga's artistic repertoire is extremely vast, comprising approximately 40 scores from the operas of great world composers, including works by Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, and Bizet. On the stages of theaters in Moscow, Leningrad, and other important cities of the former Soviet Union, she performed leading roles in the operas "Iolanta," "Eugene Onegin," "The Queen of Spades," "Aida," "La Bohème," and "Tosca." She collaborated with renowned conductors such as Alexandru Samoilă and Lev Gavrilov, as well as with prestigious directors, participating in tours in Italy, Denmark, Finland, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, and Romania. In 1993, she received the title of Merited Artist of the Republic of Moldova. Starting in 2005, Ludmila Aga also turned to pedagogical activity, teaching at the Department of Academic Singing at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts (AMTAP), and in 2016 she obtained the title of docent. She has developed specialized teaching materials, including guides dedicated to teaching academic singing and scientific articles published in specialized journals. She actively collaborates with important cultural institutions, participates in music competition juries, and continues to promote classical and contemporary Moldovan opera as a dedicated pedagogue, mentor, and performer for the development of musical culture in the Republic of Moldova.
