About
Inga Afanasieva is a Senior Infrastructure Specialist in the Urban, Resilience and Land Department of the World Bank. Throughout her career, Inga has developed expertise in results-based financing and has managed projects in the infrastructure and social sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia, South Asia, and East Asia Pacific. Currently, she leads the work on results-based financing at the World Bank, where she helped launch the multi-donor Outcomes Fund trust fund and designed several impact bonds. In the past, Inga served as Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova, where she led the Minister's cabinet. She was at the forefront of education reform and the development of the new Education Strategy and Education Law. Inga graduated from Georgetown University with a Master of Science in Foreign Service and holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova. Since 2020, Inga has been a Fellow of Practice at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford.
