About
Olga Bramley is the founder and director of the London School of Russian Language and Literature, the first professional independent Saturday school in the UK dedicated to the Russian language and literature. The institution, established in January 1998, caters to children from Anglo-Russian bilingual families and offers courses in Russian language, literature, history, and mathematics at GCSE and A-Level. Under her leadership, the school has become a center of educational excellence, with remarkable academic results and a solid reputation within the Russian community in the United Kingdom. Bramley has developed an innovative pedagogy that combines traditional Russian methodologies with modern approaches, blending rigorous language teaching with the cultivation of a passion for Russian culture. Her school has gained international recognition and has hosted important seminars and projects, including within the Russian World Foundation. Olga Bramley has also coordinated a methodological center that has provided assistance and consultancy to other Russian language schools in the UK and worldwide, promoting high standards of Russian language teaching, both as a native language and as a foreign language for children of the diaspora. As an author and pedagogical innovator, Bramley has contributed significantly to the development of teaching materials for bilingual students, including the textbook series "My Native Russian Language" (Moj rodnoj russkij jazyk). Her educational vision focuses on the importance of preserving the Russian language among younger generations and creating a learning environment filled with love and dedication, where students can develop fluency in Russian and a deep understanding of Russian cultural heritage, preparing them for academic and professional success.
